The climbing site “Les 3 commères” takes its name from the 3 rocky peaks forming the 35m limestone cliff and which seem to be “talking” to each other. Situated in the middle of the forest, you will benefit from the freshness to help you climb this peaceful site where you might see chamois, roe dears or woodpeckers…

Climbing on this particular site does not require particular physical skills but remains a sportive activity. It is however not advised for people suffering from vertigo or who get dizzy with high hills. The hill reaches 35m in some points but with a 60m rope, it is possible to climb most of the routes.

Access to the climbing site is free. A topographical guide about all Via Ferrata and climbing sites of South Jura is for sale at the Tourism Office of Morez for a price of 20€.

Please note that the site is kept clean and usable by the climbing club “Jura Vertical” (tel: +33 6 87 13 45 90) and we thank you for respecting it.

You can rent all the equipment from Tuesday to Saturday (and from Monday to Saturday in July an August) at “Murer Sport” (153 rue de la République in Morez. +33 3 84 33 03 35).

Any beginners can benefit from the help of your professional partners guides.

The advice from our Tourism Office:

Starting from Morez, access to the site will be found on the “N5” road going to Morbier, then turn right on the “D18” road to Bellefontaine. On this road, after about 2km, turn left in between the buildings of the factory “Signaux Girod” to get up to the welcome area.

Other climbing sites:

“Roche Blanche” in “Les Rousses”

“Les Auvernes” in “Lamoura”

« Le Becquet » in « Saint Claude »
