Exposition "Green Watching"

HAUTS DE BIENNE

There is no planet B., but there is a way to go! Greener eyewear is possible. Reconciling respect for the environment and eyewear design is one of the major missions of tomorrow's eyewear industry, but especially today. A challenge for eyewear manufacturers, but also an ethical mission for future generations. More and more of us want to adopt a mode of production and consumption that is more respectful of our fellow citizens and the planet. Many initiatives approach ecology from different angles and help to switch to "green watching" mode. Creating biodegradable materials, recycling unlikely materials, aiming for zero waste, valuing second-hand products or favouring short circuits are now the options chosen by the various players in the optical sector, who wish to commit to a sustainable development approach throughout the production cycle of their frames. But in order to know how to act and buy better, we need to understand what is at stake with this small accessory...

The design of this exhibition has been the subject of numerous donations from European eyewear manufacturers who share values linked to ecology and respect for our environment... An important commitment to enriching the museum's collections and in its work of collecting for future generations.
