On a golden floor, a few flashes of light. Flashy, gaudy, incandescent reflections of three performers who explore the burning question of masculinity. They defy, they challenge each other, they mock the models, and together they redefine, in their own unique way, a virility that does not confine them.
A sensitive and powerful relationship with the body, where sketching out new ways of being a man becomes a necessity.
What do we lose by breaking away from the norm? Can we shine by showing ourselves to be vulnerable? Suddenly, the light wavers, perilous and random. Like an attempt to change the way we look at things, to take a risk on the road to the changes to come. An invitation to glimpse, through a luminous and sensorial dance, polymorphous, evolving and plural masculinities.
After 4 years of research into the theme of women and their power, choreographer Emeline Nguyen is keen to explore how masculinity has been experimented with, framed, interpreted and socially constructed through the ages, and to question the place of the word 'virility' in our society.
